The Natural Mattress Store in San Rafael

Located at 816 Fourth Street in downtown San Rafael, The Natural Mattress Store opened for business in 2007. The economy was tilting downwards and friends advised us not to do it, but we believed wholeheartedly that there are many people who were totally dissatisfied with their conventional mattresses and needed a natural alternative. It turned out that we were right and soon we had customers driving an hour or two to visit our store.

It took several months to find the right place. We wanted to have a store that would have a cozy and intimate ambiance and we got lucky. Our San Rafael store has glass on three sides trimmed in old growth redwood. It has high ceilings and an interesting irregular floor plan that doesn’t make you feel like you are in a box. As soon as you walk in you will feel relaxed and welcome.

Our Eco-Cloud organic mattresses are displayed on solid wood platform beds sourced primarily from several small American companies who use natural finishes. There are over a dozen different natural pillows to choose from and you and test them while you are comparing organic mattresses.

There is a city of San Rafael parking lot in the rear of the store that we share with Mike’s Bikes. You enter this lot from Fifth Street off of Lincoln Ave. Walk through the black iron gates that separate us from Sushi to Dai For and you have arrived.
